Barrier Air is a premier airline headquartered in Auckland Airport, Auckland, New Zealand. It operates scheduled passenger and freight services between Auckland, the North Shore, Great Barrier Island and Kaitaia.

The headquarters of Barrier Air is located at the Domestic Terminal of Auckland Airport in Mangere, Auckland. Barrier Air also has additional hubs in the terminal buildings of Great Barrier Aerodrome, North Shore Aerodrome and Kaitaia Airport. Barrier Air operates regular domestic flights in New Zealand, shuttling between Auckland, North Shore, and Kaitaia. Auckland is the main base of operations for this airline. Kaitaia and North Shore are also significant centres of activity.

• Cabin/In-Flight Baggage Allowance: According to Barrier Air baggage policy, the maximum amount of cabin baggage that a traveller can carry is 7 kg. Passengers are entitled to one carry-on briefcase/backpack/purse etc. Undeclared baggage will lead to a $40 fine.
• Checked Baggage Allowance: The maximum Barrier Air baggage weight is different for different routes and travel classes. For Great Barrier Island flights, the maximum permissible checked baggage is 18 kg. For flights to Kaitaia, this limit is increased to 23 kg. If you have more than the stipulated Barrier Air baggage, you will have to pay additional fees.

Routes Served by Barrier Air

Barrier Air serves four major domestic routes within New Zealand. These are the Auckland-Great Barrier Island Flight, Auckland-Kaitaia Flight, North Shore-Great Barrier Island Flight and Kaitaia-Great Barrier Island Flight. All Great Barrier Island flights are to and fro from Claris Airport. Therefore, Barrier Air does not operate any international flights.
