Bahamian Government owns Bahamasair which started its operation in the year 1973. Bahamasair Holdings Limited in short known as Bahamasair is the national airline of Bahamas. This airline serves more than 30 destinations in the Bahamas, United States, Cuba, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, etc. using the available fleet to operate domestic and international flights

Bahamasair airline hub is located in Lynden Pindling International Airport. However, the headquarters of Bahamasair Airlines is Nassau, Bahamas.

Cabin Baggage:

Bahamasair cabin baggage allowance is limited to one bag along with them that does not exceed 20 pounds. Every passenger is allowed to carry cabin baggage with dimension not exceeding the total of 45 inches (22 x 14 x 9). This policy is applicable for domestic flights and international routes too.

Checked Baggage:

Bahamasair Airlines baggage weight for checked Baggage as per the baggage policy is 50 pounds or 23 kg. Every passenger can carry one bag free of cost. The first bag must not exceed the Bahamasair Airlines baggage size or dimension of 158 cm in total (L+W+H) as fixed by the airline. The second bag will be levied with a charge of 35 USD and for the third bag, it is 75 USD.

The excess baggage charges for check-in baggage are as follows

If the excess bag is weighing in the range of 24 to 32 kg additional charge of 75 USD will be collected from the passenger. If it is more than 32 kg and less than 45 kg, then 125 USD will be collected as baggage charges. Single Bag weighing greater than 100 lbs or 45 Kg will not be accepted.

Online Web Check-in:

Passengers who have booked air tickets can check-in online using the confirmation or the ticket number to select the desired seat. The passenger can print the boarding pass at the comfort of his or her place.

Airport Check-in Counter:

The passenger with a reserved air ticket can drop their baggage at the dedicated counter available at the airport. Check-in for domestic flights closes 45 minutes departure and for international flights, the passenger can check-in until one hour before the actual departure time.

The headquarter of Bahamasair is located in Nassau. It is the national airline of the Bahamas nation. They purchased 51 percentage of OIA and have become the first highest shareholders and part owner. Then later they have named it as Airline Bahamasair. The copartners were Edward Albury, Gil Hensler and Sherlock Hackley. Bahamasair kept adding flights to other cities in Florida in 1970s.
