Turkish Airlines (code: TK) is the national flag carrier airline of Turkey. Check-in Baggage: According to the Turkish Airlines Baggage Weight policies, the maximum weight of any single piece of baggage on all the flights is 32 kg.

• For domestic flights: For economy class, max weight is 20 kg while that for business class is 30 kg.
• For International flights: For economy class, max weight is 20 kg while that for business class is 30 kg.
• Turkish Airlines Baggage policy also has regulations for flights which apply the baggage piece concept. The maximum number of pieces that a passenger can carry is confined to two. Turkish Airlines Baggage Size policy states that maximum dimensions for each bag (height + width + depth) must be 158 cm.
• Turkish Airlines Check-in Baggage size must be according to the Turkish Airlines Baggage policies.

Hand Baggage: According to the Turkish Airlines Baggage Weight policies, the maximum weight of any single piece of baggage on all the flights is 8 kg. The maximum dimension allowed is 55x40x23 cm.

• For domestic flights: For economy class, max weight is 8 kg and only one bag is allowed. For business class, two bags are allowed with each weighing not more than 8 kg.
• For International flights: For international flights, the allowances are the same, but there are restrictions for taking some medicines, baby food, perfume, lighter.

Web check-in: Turkish Online check-in is available for flights departing from selected airports. A maximum of 8 passengers can check-in at once. This service can be availed 24 hours to 90 minutes before the scheduled time of the flight. The seat map can be viewed, and an available seat can be chosen.

Check-in Desk at the airport: The counter check-in service at this airline is available for 2 hours before scheduled departure till 1 hour for all the domestic and international flights.

Mobile check-in: Mobile check-in facility is available for the passengers who have booked tickets. This lets the travellers to check-in without any hassle, but this service is still available only at selected airports.

Kiosk check-in: Kiosk machines can be used only by passengers with electronic tickets in order to complete the Turkish Airlines check-in process. The passengers who have booked tickets in domestic flights can check-in between 12 hours to 45 minutes before the flight schedule. For international flights, passengers can check-in until 60 minutes prior to the departure time.

Turkish Airlines was established on 20 May 1933. Several issues plagued the airline in the 1980s and 90s.
