Checked baggage: SriLankan Airlines baggage weight allowed for checked baggage is 30 Kg for Economy Class and 40 Kg for Business Class. SriLankan Airlines baggage size or dimension for Checked baggage is 158cm. Passengers can carry two bags or pieces with each bag not exceeding 23 Kg in Economy Class and 32 Kg in Business Class.

Web Check-in: Through online check-in, the passengers who are with reserved e-tickets can reserve their preferred seat using the PNR number. The SriLankan airline web check-in can be done between 24 hours to 2 hours prior to the time of departure for all the classes.

Mobile Check-in: Travellers who have booked air tickets can now avail for the desired seats and check-in through the mobile. The boarding pass along with the receipts will be forwarded to the registered mail ID of the passenger.

Airport Check-in: There are different check-in counters for the business and economy class travellers. The passengers can collect their boarding pass at the counter after dropping their baggage.

SriLankan government set up the Airline in July 1979. The beginning of the airline was with two Boeing 707 jets on lease from Singapore Airlines. Later it started serving for more destinations of the airline and more aircraft were added to the fleets. In 1998, the airline became more powerful when the Emirates and Sri Lankan Government signed an agreement. During the time the airline changed its brand from Air Lanka to SriLankan Airlines. Now it became one of the prominent airlines in Asia. SriLankan Airlines code is UL (IATA) and ALK (ICAO).
