Bering Air was established in the year 1979. Jim Rowe and three college friends embarked on a journey from Michigan and landed on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula and then they settled in Nome, Alaska. Bering Air commenced operations from October 3, 1970 and with a single plane called the De Hallivand Canada DHC-3 Otter. After the initiation and increasing demand of popular bypass mail system, new aircraft were added. Later for power and speed, they changed their aircraft with equipment like turbine powered machines. Today the airline is totally owned by Jim Rowe who is the President of the airline. Bering Air Airline code is 8E(IATA) and BRG (ICAO). Callsign for the airline is BERING AIR.
