Understanding Different Types of PNR Status in Train Bookings!

Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is to get a new backup train by the end of this month. The double body is being launched in New Delhi and will be used for service when the train’s old unit would be sent for maintenance.

The backup train of India’s first semi-high-speed train is to have better facilities compared to the old unit of the train. The new unit is to have adjustable seats, lesser noise in the cabin with the help of improved sound insulation and better functioning washrooms that could improve the experience of the passengers.

The current train runs five times a week, which leaves no time for repair or maintenance. This condition could be improved and better service can be assured to the passengers with the launch of the new double body.

With the success of Vande Bharat, the Indian Railways also plans to launch other similar trains on other routes. Some of the possible routes chosen by the Indian Railways include Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Bangalore-Hyderabad and Kolkata-Patna.

Piyush Goyal, the Railways Minister says to have 100 more of such trains in future, with the railways to aim at launching 10 more such trains by 2020. These trains can also, in future, pave way for exporting such trains manufactured in India.
