Uttarakhand gets its first Vande Bharat Express train, inaugurated on May 23rd, 2023, at 11 am by the Prime Minister. The state and central government constantly strive towards improving connectivity and tourism in the state via various programmes and infrastructure.

Uttarakhand’s Vande Bharat Express Details
The regular operations of Uttarakhand’s Vande Bharat Express began from May 29, 2023. The train’s first operating route is from Delhi to Dehradun. Uttarakhand’s entire train route will be 100% electrified. The train has 8 coaches, offers 2 kinds of options for chair cars, and is equipped with the Kavach technology, along with other advanced safety features. The train runs at a speed of 100km/ hr, with speed gains in 52 seconds, and covers a distance of 302 km in just 4 hours & 45 minutes.

- Operates on all days except Wednesday.
- Train no. 22457 departs from Delhi (Anand Vihar railway station) at 17:50 hrs & reaches Dehradun at 22:35 hrs.
- Train number 22458 departs from Dehradun at 7:00 hrs & reaches Delhi (Anand Vihar terminal) at 11:45 hrs.
