Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off nine new Vande Bharat trains recently. The new trains will significantly improve connectivity as well as boost tourism across India. Vande Bharat trains are semi-high-speed trains that can run up to 180 kmph. They are equipped with modern features such as automatic doors, bio-vacuum toilets, CCTV cameras, a GPS-based passenger information system, and sliding footrests. They also have improved seat reclination angle, deep washbasins, and optimized cushion hardness.

With thirteen trains, the total number of Vande Bharat trains has increased to 34. Nine more orange-colored Vande Bharat Express trains are expected to be rolled out soon. All of these trains will have eight coaches and will run six days a week, barring different days for different routes.
