Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the much-awaited Hyderabad Metro, today. The 30 km-long first phase of the metro rail project between Miyapur and Nagole will have 24 stations including Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Osmania University, Secunderabad Railway Station and major commercial hubs like Begumpet and Ameerpet.

The world’s largest public-private partnership project (PPP) in this sector, Hyderabad Metro Rail, will be open to the commuters from Wednesday. The project has set a record as no other metro project has rolled out such a long stretch in one go.

PM Modi and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao took the inaugural ride from Miyapur to Kukatpally, and back. A mobile application – ‘T Savari’ – will also be launched. The app would provide quick interface for metro services. The tickets are priced between Rs. 10 and Rs. 60.
