Keeping safety and industry compliances in mind, the airline retired the Dash 8-300 aircraft on July 4, 2018.
The history of Piedmont Airlines dates back to 1931 when it began its journey as Henson Aviation in Hagerstown, Maryland. It is the brainchild of Richard A. Henson, an avid test pilot and aviation pioneer, who had the supreme dedication for safety, customer service and excellence.
It initially started with serving Philadelphia, Washington D.C and Baltimore, and continued expanding its network to connect 55+ destinations today. In 1983, Piedmont Aviation purchased Henson, and the company became known as Henson, the Piedmont Regional Airline.
Multiple times, the Piedmont Airlines has won the FAA Diamond Award of Excellence in FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician Training Program.
