Vande Bharat Express to Provide Flight-Like Hospitality to Passengers

As an initiative to ensure enhanced travel experience of the Vande Bharat Express passengers, IRCTC has deployed flight-like services on the train. The Indian Railways has initiated a pilot project and has brought 34 trained train hostesses and flight stewards for the convenience of the passengers onboard.

This new project is a trial service implemented for 6 months, and will be extended to other Indian Railways trains following the success of the same. Unlike the caterers on the IRCTC trains who are usually paid ₹8,000-₹10,000 per month, the train hostesses are being paid ₹25,000 per month for better services.

Essential Things To Pack For Long Train Journeys

This Delhi-Varanasi Express train is a ‘Make in India’ product, and is also the first engine-less semi-high speed train from the Indian Railways. The train has also been able to meet the expectations of the passengers by being on-time on most of the days.

After being flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its first journey in February 2019, Vande Bharat Express has successfully completed its journeys till date. The train, also known as Train 18, has a regenerating braking system, saving up to 30% of electrical energy consumed. This new development could be beneficial for the passengers, helping them enjoy their journey better.
