Havelock Island

Majuli, Assam
This is one of the first river island district in India, located in Assam. It is formed by Brahmaputra in the south and the Kherkutia Xuti joined by the river Subansiri in the north. Majuli is the cultural capital of Assamese civilisation since the 16th Century. This town hosts all the important festivals and events. One of the biggest festivals here is Raas Purnima, which showcases a dance performance based on Krishna’s life.
Diu Island
Located just beside Gujarat, Diu is known for its Portuguese architecture. There are some lovely beaches here which attract people from all over the world. There are famous Churches here as well. One can also explore the majestic Diu Fort, built by the Portuguese during their colonial rule in Diu island. This massive and well-preserved fort have been impregnable. But years of sea erosion are now leading to its slow collapse. The lighthouse here is Diu’s highest point which has a beam which reaches 32 kilometre in every direction.
Divar Island, Goa
An unexplored island off South Goa, the beautiful Divar island is a place where time has stopped. That’s what one feels anyway. The marshy waters, sleepy roads makes this island a beautiful exploration site. Though there’s not much to do here, one can spend ages just exploring the island on foot and getting lost!
