Singapore Airline has launched the world’s longest non-stop flight route in October, from Singapore’s Changi Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport, New York. The whole journey will take approximately 18 hours and 25 minutes.
The previous record of the longest flight of 17 hours and 20 minutes was for a flight from Auckland, New Zealand, to Doha, Qatar.
Turns out, this is not the first time that Singapore Airlines has introduced this route. They had launched the same route earlier also from 2004 to 2013 but eventually shut it down because it wasn’t profitable for them. Now, the airline has upgraded to a more fuel-efficient aircraft and is hoping for a different outcome.
