Indian Railways would now allow m- Aadhaar as ID proof for travellers in any reserved class. The m-Aadhar is a mobile app launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on which the Aadhar Card can be downloaded.
The Aadhar Card can only be downloaded on the linked mobile number. During train ticket verification, the traveller needs to open the app and enter his/her password to get a downloaded copy of the Aadhar Card. The other documents that are accepted as ID proof for ticket verification are Voter’s ID Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence, etc.
This step taken by the Indian Railways would definitely make train travel experience smoother and better for the passengers.
