Winters are the best time to pack your bags and explore India, but there are some destinations which get too cold or too populated during this time of the year. Here are some of the destinations that you should avoid:
1. Manali
The best family destination in North India, Manali attracts hoards of tourists every month. In the winter season however, Manali sees very heavy snow fall. In the hopes of seeing snow, many throng to Manali as well. The only way to Manali being road, the snow creates lot of problems. Lot of landslides and snow storms happen, due to which the roads get jammed. It’s best to avoid such destinations.
2. Delhi
The capital city of India is also very happening during New Years and holiday season. A lot of events take place all throughout the city, but because of over-population in this place, there are massive traffic jams everywhere and it’s impossible to get around. Even if you just want to roam around and have a good time, the number of people you will see at every corner will make it impossible to have a good time. Pollution problem also gets heightened around this time of the year.
3. Shimla
Again, one of the most popular destinations in India all year round, Shimla also gets very cold during the winter season. From sub-zero temperatures to even road closures; winter is very tough here. If you want to enjoy snow fall, it’s best to avoid Shimla, as there are chances of road closures and getting stuck on highways during this season.
4. Goa
Goa is undoubtedly the party destination of India, especially in December. But this place goes nuts in this month. You will see throngs of tourists from India and abroad coming here and it will be very crowded & super expensive. So, if you want to enjoy some alone time and have a quite New Years, this is the place to avoid.
