Planning to skip voting in Karnataka Poll Day on April 18th and escape to a nearby tourist place? Well, here’s some news for you! Several tour operators, hotels and other agents in Karnataka have decided to refuse bookings and deny the customers who book their travel and hotel tickets around the election time.
This initiative has come from the Shivamogga district administration. The Deputy Commissioner K A Dayananda has issued an order that states that all the hotels and resorts in the district are to deny bookings from customers who come from constituencies that have polling dates between April 18th and 23rd.
Coorg and Mysore have also adopted similar actions to stop people who plan to skip voting and travel to nearby destinations to escape the heat and have some great time with their loved ones. Mysore, with a tagline “Vote before going on a holiday”, has announced that during the election days, the taxis would deny local tourists who wish to travel to the nearby tourist locations.
The stakeholders who are related to Mysore Travels Association (MTA) and some of the hotels in the district has introduced a campaign “No Voting, No Booking” to ensure that it reminds the people from the region to cast their votes and be responsible citizens.
Be responsible, and cast your votes during the elections at your respective constituencies. You can book your tickets and escape to your desired destination happy and proud for having taken the right decision of not skipping your voting.
