Indore now becomes one of the most developed cities in Madhya Pradesh, as the Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport becomes the state’s first international airport. The first overseas flight from the airport is to take off in April 2019.

The airport authorities have ensured that the airport is well equipped with all the facilities, infrastructure and other requirements to ensure smooth and hassle-free operations of the flights, leading to happy passengers.

The first international flight that operates from Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport is to Sharjah, in April. The Customs Commissioner Neerav Kumar Mallick assured that the airport is ready with amenities like a customs office, segregation area and an immigration centre, ensuring that the passengers have a comfortable time at the airport.

To prepare for the international flights, the airport has made sure that separate entry and exit points for baggage are designated for domestic and international flights. Apart from this, the airport is ready with a customs office, immigration counter, and a customs counter to separate international passengers from the domestic passengers.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Madhya Pradesh, recently estimated in a survey that Indore Airport would see more than 95,000 international passengers a year, as Indore is a major pilgrim centre as well an important trade centre of the state. This new initiative would also impact in the commercial as well as tourism growth of Madhya Pradesh.
