The Indian Railways runs special summer trains that would operate till July, helping in beating the summer rush during the summer holiday season and the unavailability of train tickets in most of the fast and super fast trains during the season.
These special trains are to make 1354 trips till July 2019. Tatkal tickets can also be booked on select special trains one day prior to the scheduled departure date. The tatkal ticket counters open at 10AM for AC tatkal ticket bookings, and at 11AM for non-AC tatkal ticket bookings.
Confirmed tatkal tickets cannot be cancelled. However, for waitlisted tatkal ticket cancellations and other contingent cancellations, the charges will be deducted as per ticket booking and cancellation rules set by the Indian Railways.
With the introduction of these new trains, the holiday rush and the unavailability of train tickets for vacationers is believed to be in control, making it easier for the train travellers to commute within the country during the peak season.
