We all have had that dreaded moment when we miss a flight or cancel our flight at the last moment due to change in travel plans. Cancelling a flight can be a nightmare especially when you are not aware of the cancellation process. Moreover, the exorbitant cancellation charges can just add to your dismay. Well, cancelling a flight on Paytm is easier than you think.
All you need to know about flight cancellation and refund:
1. How to go for flight cancellation?
To cancel your flight, you need to log in to Paytm and click on ‘Manage your Bookings’. Enter your Booking ID corresponding to your booking and the contact number that you gave at the time of the booking. You can place a request for normal/partial/no show cancellation, after you log in. Please review the cancellation penalty and refund amount before you confirm to cancel the booking.
2. When and how will I get my refund?
In case you cancel your flight ticket, the refund amount is credited back instantly to your Paytm wallet. In case you have booked the ticket using a debit/credit card, the amount is credited back to your account within 7 days. You get your refund only if your ticket is refundable. No refund is done on non-refundable tickets. Call on our 24/7 helpline number 7053111905, for any assistance regarding cancellation and refunds.
3. How to raise a cancellation request in case of normal cancellation?
In case of normal cancellation, you need to place a request 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. However, cancellation can be made until 2 hours prior to the departure time but you are charged an addition cancellation penalty for late cancellation.
4. How can I claim no show taxes?
You can claim for no show refund if you couldn’t board the flight due to any reason. Charges will be levied if the ticket is not cancelled/rescheduled within stipulated time, and the ticket amount will be forfeited and only applicable taxes will be refunded.
5. What is partial cancellation?
In case of combined flights, you can opt for partial cancellation by cancelling some of the flights booked in your itinerary or cancel any specific passengers or sectors in your booking. For partial refunds, the applicable one way fare and taxes for the utilised sector of travel and the cancellation/ refund charges are deducted and the balance amount is refunded. However in case of certain highly discounted fares, partially utilised tickets are non-refundable. You will need to check the details of the fare at the time of booking.
6. How do I get a refund for tickets that I have directly cancelled with the airlines?
If you have cancelled the booking directly with the airline, you would need to inform Paytm of the same. On receiving your confirmation, Paytm, will validate the refund amount with the airline and then process the refund to your account immediately. Please note that we do not charge any cancellation service fee over the normal cancellation penalty levied by the airline.
7. Until when can I cancel my ticket?
In case of normal cancellation, requests should be placed at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight.
8. How much am I charged for cancellation?
To ensure transparency and accountability in all our transactions, we do not levy any cancellation fees. You are only charged the normal cancellation penalty by the airline that ranges from Rs. 200 –Rs. 2,250, depending on the airline you have booked with, and your cancellation type.
9. What if I need to change the date of my journey?
In some cases, a cancellation and rebooking might be cheaper than opting for a date change. The airlines don’t refund or adjust the money if the new fare is cheaper than the one that you were charged for your previous booking.
Note: Each airline has specific cancellation guidelines and policies. Please do visit the official airlines’ website for further details.
