In a country as diverse and spiritually rich as India, pilgrimages hold a profound significance for millions. One such revered destination is Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, a revered figure in Hindu mythology.
Recognizing the importance of facilitating pilgrimages, the Indian Railways has introduced Aastha Special Trains, dedicated to connecting devotees to Ayodhya.
Overview of Aastha Special Trains to Ayodhya:
Following the sacred ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22, the Railways has introduced 200 Aastha special trains. These trains aim to facilitate devotees’ journeys from 66 different locations across the nation to Ayodhya.
Each of these specially designated trains will consist of 22 coaches, ensuring ample space for devotees eager to visit the revered Ram temple. To cater to the varying demands of devotees, the number of trains may be increased accordingly.
Commencing from main cities such as New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin, and Anand Vihar, these special Aastha trains will also operate from numerous other cities including Agartala, Tinsukia, Barmer, Katra, Jammu, Nashik, Dehradun, Bhadrak, Khurda Road, Kottayam, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kazipet.
Indian Railways has approximately 200 additional special train services in the works, with a focus on operational stoppages. These trains are slated to run from various cities for 100 days after the Ram Mandir opening ceremony.
Because of security reasons, train details will not be available through the Passenger Reservation System (PRS). However, devotees can conveniently purchase round-trip tickets for these special Aastha trains via the (IRCTC) website and app.
