103 Trains Cancelled by Indian Railways Due to Cyclone Fani

As an alert on cyclone Fani, the Indian Railways has cancelled over 100 trains that run through various parts of India that include Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The cyclone is to hit 19 districts of Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.

Some of the popular trains that have been cancelled due to the Fani alert are the Patna-Ernakulam Express, Howrah-Hyderabad Express, Howrah-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express and Bhubaneswar-Rameswaram Express.

The Indian Railways have also announced that it will provide a complete refund to the passengers who had booked the train tickets with the cancelled or diverted trains. This amount will be refunded if the tickets are produced in three days of the scheduled departure date of the cancelled train.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also opines that the cyclone Fani is going to affect parts of the Odisha coast in the form of landfall. As a part of precautionary measures, parts of coastal Odisha such as Puri, Bhadrak, Jaipur, Ganjam, Cuttack, and Balasore have begun evacuations. All the schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain closed in Odisha for the next three days.
